Hi all,
Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere - I've exhausted my Google and Reddit search skills with no answer.
I have a RetroPie set up with almost all ROMs compressed in the 7zip format, using the extensions listed at https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Supported-Systems as a guide. However, when I try to launch a game for a supported system, say SNES using lr-snes9x2010, the game will attempt to launch briefly before failing and returning me to ES. For some systems, the game will 'launch', but only displays a black screen, and I have to manually go back to ES using the hotkey shortcut. Unzipped ROMs, or even ROMs with a .zip extension, work just fine, but not .7z. I have looked through all the documentation I can find but can't seem to find anything to indicate why 7z files would not be accepted by the emulators that list it as a valid extension. Has anyone else ran into this issue?
I'm running the latest version of Retropie, with all emulators/packages up to date.
Thanks!

UPDATE:
I figured out the issue. Somehow, when I batch converted my ROM files to 7zip files, the file extension of the original ROM was actually REMOVED, so that inside the archive was the name of the ROM without an extension....so the emulator could not launch it. I re-did the batch conversion, this time ensuring that the original file extensions survived in the archives, and everything is working great now. Thanks for your help everyone!
